| Q | What are product templates?
| A | Product templates are downloadable files that provide information on product dimensions, layout, bleed,
and any folding or mailing guidelines.
digitalartonline.ca has developed over 50 product templates in five different file formats to make it easier for you to quickly
create print-ready files in graphic design software programs including Adobe Photoshop®, Adobe Illustrator®,
Adobe InDesign®, Adobe Acrobat®, or Quark Express®. If you are using Microsoft Word® or Publisher® for your
design work, you can use one of the many templates available within the software files, and on the Internet.
Using our templates is easy! Download the product template that meets your needs, create your artwork and then submit and approve
the final artwork.
You can access a list of available product templates at digitalartonline.ca/templates
| Q | Do I have to use a product template?
| A | No. If you are designer, you should use whatever resources help you quickly create a winning design.
However, if you don't use one of our product templates, we encourage you to take a little extra time to ensure that your files
meet our specifications. You may want to review our file preparation tips on our file prep
page.
If you are interested in creating your own design and have limited design expertise, we encourage you to review our stock product
designs available our file templates page.
| Q | Are product templates similar to stock designs?
| A | No. Product templates are intended to help designers quickly develop print-ready files, not to replace
the process of creating a professional design.

| Q | What if a product template is incorrect?
| A | While we strives to provide accurate product templates at all times, errors may occur on rare occasions. In the event that a product template is confusing or incorrect, we encourage you to let us know by submitting feedback at: http://www.digitalartonline.ca/feedback. After receiving your email, we will make every effort to quickly address the issue.
| Q | How do I delete layers in a product template?
| A | We need to know the software program you are using before we can provide instructions on how to
delete the layer that contains the product template.
You can review specific instructions to help you after identifying your software program at: http://www.digitalartonline.ca/layers
| Q | What if the size of my artwork is different than the size specified in the product template?
| A | If you want your artwork to fit into one of our product templates, you will need to resize your images by scaling them up or down proportionally to fit into a product template. You must submit the correct size for printing.
| Q | How do I ensure accurate colour on my print job?
| A | All monitors are colour calibrated differently. The colour you see on your monitor may be
different than the colour that is printed. The only way to ensure accurate colour is to use a professional pantone process book.
See pantone swatches.
